Did you know? There's a Sunday School class for you!

Have you been looking for a Sunday School class? Well, at our church, every Sunday morning from September through June begins with Sunday School!

At 9:00 am we meet in the Christian Education Building for inter-generational song time.  This is our opportunity to sing and laugh together with praise songs, recognition of birthdays, and fellowship.

By 9:20 am, we move to Sunday School classes. Two children's classes and two adult classes meet to read Scripture, pray, and participate in fun-filled activities. Our goal is to learn together and support each other in our faith journeys.

If you would like to join with others who wish to learn more about God's word, this may be a good place for you.  We hope to see you soon!

VBS - A time of fun and fellowship!

Vacation Bible School 2013 - Operation Overboard!

This year in Vacation Bible School our students and volunteers learned to:
  • Depend on God, like Noah
  • Dare to Care, like the servant girl who helped Naaman
  • Choose to Follow, like the disciples
  • Change the World, like Paul
We had a wonderful week of Bible stories, songs, ocean crafts, snacks, and outdoor games. VBS concluded with a program for families on Thursday night, complete with a make-your-own-sundae event in the Christian Education Building.

Our VBS raised nearly $200 for a sustainable fishing project through Heifer International, and about 30 school supply items for People's Emergency Center.

A big thanks to students, parents, and volunteers.  We can't wait until next year!

MPCFC participates in annual Walk + Run Against Hunger

On April 13, several members of our congregation participated in the annual Walk + Run Against Hunger, an event organized by the Philadelphia Hunger Coalition.  It was a beautiful day for a 5K walk, and it was very inspiring to join with so many other people from our city.  At last count, we raised over $600 for our food pantry, Food for Hope.

Pastor Meg celebrates 10th Anniversary

Congratulations, Pastor Meg, on the 10th anniversary of your intallation as our pastor!

New Year's Resolutions

Have you made any New Year's Resolutions? This was a topic of a recent Sunday School Class, where our teenagers discussed Micah 6:8 and how that might be a good resolution for us all.

The Session of our church has also made some resolutions.  At our annual joint meeting of Session and Deacons, we worked to identify the key focus points of our life as a church. The participants identified four areas to which we feel called:
  • Worship
  • Youth outreach and education
  • Feeding the hungry
  • Fellowship and care of our members
Our resolution is to be sure that our time, energy, and resources are directed to those areas.

What's your New Year's Resolution?
